Eritrean Community Association in Luxembourg

Data Protection Policy

This website collects the details you give us through its forms — contact messages, membership applications, volunteer and partnership requests, service requests, event registrations and donation pledges — and uses them only to handle those requests. Only board members and staff whose role requires it can see them.

Pages that show a map draw it from OpenStreetMap. When you open such a page, your browser fetches the map from the OpenStreetMap Foundation (openstreetmap.org), whose privacy policy applies to that request. Nothing you type on this site is sent to them.

The Eritrean Community Association in Luxembourg is fully committed to protecting the personal data of all its members, beneficiaries, and contacts. It complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the corresponding Luxembourg implementing legislation. The Association is registered with the National Commission for Data Protection (CNPD), in accordance with applicable regulations. Personal data is processed only for specific, legitimate purposes directly related to membership management, program implementation, and legal obligations. It is never sold or shared with third parties without explicit consent, unless required by Luxembourg or European law. Particular care is taken with data relating to refugee or asylum status. Members and beneficiaries retain the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict the processing of, and port their personal data, as well as the right to withdraw consent at any time. Complaints may be filed with the CNPD (www.cnpd.lu).

When you delete your account it is closed immediately and cannot be recovered. For accountability, the association keeps your name against the actions recorded under your account for 90 days, after which it is anonymised; the association's own records of a membership or a payment are kept as required by law.

To exercise these rights, or to ask for your data to be deleted, contact us at contact@ecal.life.

You may also lodge a complaint with Luxembourg's National Commission for Data Protection (CNPD).
